Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 is a redevelopment area that straddles the Nishi and Naka wards of Yokohama City and faces the Port of Yokohama.\nIt is a planned city that has been under development as a new metropolitan center since 1983.\nIn the photo, from left to right, the Nippon Maru Memorial Park with the Nippon Maru, Yokohama Landmark Tower, Queen's Square Yokohama, and Yokohama Cosmo World in the foreground.
Daphne odona, also called Japan daphne and daphne indica and native to Japan and China, is a compact evergreen shrub with dark green leaves and terminal umbels of very fragrant, reddish-purple, yellow or white flowers from late winter to early spring, often followed by colorful berries.

Chionanthus retusus, usually known as Chinese Fringe Tree, is a deciduous tree which is spectacular in full bloom. In late spring or early summer, it is literally covered with delicate clouds of slightly fragrant, pure white flowers with fringe-like petals. As the blooms fade, the petals drop like snow on the ground.
