$This Chubb River and Upper Mill Pond barrier waterfall is located near the intersection of Station Street and Sentinel Road in the center of the village of Lake Placid, New York. The calm, lazy pond surface to the left is rippled and serene. Early evening golden sunlight highlights infinite silky smooth ribbons of speeding water spilling over the edge and slipping down into that long, continuous rush of blurred, streaking splashes. Shot with Canon EOS 5D Mark II body and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens.\n\nNOTE: I thought the light was perfect, so this is one of a series of several images shot within a few minutes exploring different aperture and shutter speed settings.
