Siphamia versicolor) occurs in the tropical Indo-West Pacific from the Red Sea south to Madagascar and east through the Maldives, Sri Lanka and India to the Andaman Sea Islands and to Western Australia, north to the Ryukyus andthroughout the Indo-Malayan region to Vanuatu in a depth range from 1 to 100m, usually to 18m depth, max. length 7cm. \nThe species forms small groups with long-spined urchins, but is also found among the spines of Acanthaster planci. Siphamia tubifer feeds on zooplankton and small invertebrates. The specimen encountered in this Blue Spotted Sea Urchin Astropyga radiata is dark brown. Depending on the phase the species can be striped instead.\nBlue Spotted Sea Urchin Astropyga radiata occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific Ocean from the African coast to Australia and to Hawaii in a depth range from 0 to 60m, usually 10 to 30m, max. test diameter 20cm. \nThe species is often found in lagoons and bays where the substrate is sand, shingle or coral rubble.
