These temperate corals are corallimorphs, Corynactis californica. They have no hard skeleton, unlike reef corals, and they live in the cold seas of the Northeastern Pacific Ocean.
Anemonefish is a general term for saltwater fish belonging to the subfamily Anemonefish of the family Pomacentridae. Anemonefish became famous in the movie.There are 30 species in 2 genera.The body length grows up to about 10 to 15 cm.Anemonefish coexist with sea anemones.It is omnivorous and mainly eats crustaceans and algae.Anemonefish have no gender when they are born.Anemonefish are transsexual creatures that can be both male and female.The largest individual is the female. The second largest individual transsexuals to a male. Breeding as a couple.If the female disappears, the individual that was a male becomes a female. The third largest individual is the male.
Dreamy coral reef and fishes
The underwater world is a fascinating ecosystem full of life and variation.  This tropical coral reef is covered in Magnificent Sea Anemone’s (Heteractis magnifica) which in turn support Skunk Anemone fish (Amphiprion akallopisos).  Above the reef is a massive bait ball of Glass fish which in turn becomes prey to larger fish.  On the waters surface rays of light penetrate the clear blue water.  A perfect demonstration of Nature’s food chain within a healthy ecosystem. The blacktail butterflyfish (Chaetodon austriacus), also known as black-tailed butterflyfish or exquisite butterflyfish, is a species marine ray-finned fish, a butterflyfish belonging to the family Chaetodontidae.

False Clown Anemonefishes Amphiprion ocellaris are hiding in the tentacles of a Sea Anemone Heteractis magnifica. \nAmphiprion ocellaris inhabits shallow and calm tropical lagoons of the Indo-Malaysian region, from the Ryukyu Islands, Japan, throughout South-east Asia and south to Australia in a depth range from 1-15m, usually 3-15m, max. length 11cm. It is one of the most popular marine aquarium fishes. \nHeteractis magnifica occurs in the Indo-Pacific Ocean, from the Red Sea to Samoa, in South East Asia, Northern Australia and the Western Pacific Regions, from Australia to the Ryukyu Islands in a depth range from 1-50m depth preferring the temperature range from 24-32 °C. Heteractis magnifica is the 2nd largest of all sea anemones. The oral disc reaches 100cm, but typical is 30-50cm. In captivity, the longest lifespan is 80 years, in the wild it is unknown, but its estimated that some individuals are hundreds of years old!
