The Gold Eagle is one of the largest, fastest and nimblest raptors in North America. Gold feathers gleam on the back of its head and neck; a powerful beak and talons advertise its hunting prowess.

The breeding season in South Asia is from December to April. In southern and eastern Australia, it is August to October, and April to June in the north and west. The nests are constructed of small branches and sticks with a bowl inside and lined with leaves, and are located in various trees, often mangroves. They show considerable site fidelity nesting in the same area year after year. In some rare instances, they have been seen to nest on the ground under trees. A clutch of two dull-white or bluish-white oval eggs measuring 52 x 41 mm is laid. Both parents take part in nest building and feeding, but likely only the female incubates. The incubation period is about 26 to 27 days.

One animal harassing another is quite common in the natural world and often involves a territorial or competitive interaction between the two species. By harassing the Bald Eagle, the Raven could be trying to assert dominance or establish its territory.\n\nRavens are known to be bold and assertive in defending their resources. Additionally, harassing larger predators like the Bald Eagle could potentially reduce competition for food or nesting sites in the area. It is also possible that the Raven is simply being curious or mischievous. Steppe eagles arrive at their summer breeding grounds around April, at the start of spring. Large nests, up to a metre wide, are constructed from twigs and lined with various materials, such as old rags and camel dung. While the nests are usually placed on the ground in a position allowing a good view of the surroundings, as a result of habitat alteration and persecution, nests are increasingly being found in trees, bushes and on artificial structures. The female lays a clutch of between one and three eggs which are incubated for 45 days, with the chicks being brooded for a further 55 to 65 days before fledging. The steppe eagle is remarkably long lived, reaching up to 41 years in captivity.
