St Michael's Mount in the Moening, Cornwall, United Kingdom
Marazion, Cornwall, England, UK: St Michael's Mount and dreamtic sky - tidal island on the southwestern tip of England, lying south the town of Marazion in Cornwall. It can be reached either by ferry or, at low tide, via a narrow causeway from Marazion. St Michael's Mount combines many features of Cornwall's geology, It consists of the top area of a granite intrusion, which penetrated into weakly metamorphic shales (metapelites) of the Devonian. The southern part of the granite is crossed by steep veins with greisen mineralization. The older formations are rich in the minerals tourmaline, wolframite and cassiterite. The sea-facing outcrops have been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest since 1995 and are under protection - Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
