Mormon Lake is the largest natural lake in Arizona at about 900 acres. It is relatively shallow, with an average depth of only 10 feet. The water in Mormon Lake is fed by a number of small streams and springs, and is surrounded by beautiful forested hills and meadows. One of the unique features of Mormon Lake is that it is a seasonal lake. During dry periods, the lake can become completely dry, with only a small stream remaining. However, during wet periods, the lake can fill up to its full size. This picture of snow-covered Mormon Lake in the winter was photographed from the Mormon Lake Overlook in the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
