Siena. The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta or simply put Siena Cathedral is an inside as well as outside exquisitely decorated medieval church. A beautiful example of Italian Gothic architecture. My picture shows the upper part of the ornately decorated facade. Particular striking are the three mosaics depicting the Presentation of Mary, the Coronation of the Virgin and the Nativity of Jesus.
