Port Elizabeth, Bequia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Allamanda cathartica, commonly known as golden trumpet or buttercup flower, is a fast-growing, tropical evergreen vine or shrub native to South America. Renowned for its striking, bright yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers, it is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens and landscapes across tropical and subtropical regions. This species thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, often used as a climber on trellises or as a free-standing bush with pruning. Allamanda cathartica contains toxic compounds and should be handled with care, as all parts of the plant can cause irritation or harm if ingested.
