Foursaddle Grouper Epinephelus spilotoceps occurs in the tropical Indo-West-Pacific from East coast of Africa to the Line Islands. Except for its occurrence along the African coast (Zanzibar, Tanzania to Ponta Zavora, Mozambique) it seems to be primarily an insular species, occurring at most (probably all) of the islands of tropical Indian and west-central Pacific in a depth range from 0 to 30m, max. length 47cm. \n\nUsually species have a more ore less specific behaviour. Groupers are shy and have a long escape distance. This specimen was unusually curious and followed the photographer attentively for quite a while.\n\nTriton Bay, Indonesia \n3°54'2.346 S 134°6'32.099 E at 12m depth

Triton Epaulette Shark Hemiscyllium henryi occurs in the Western Pacific and is known only from western New Guinea (Papua Barat Province), Indonesia in a depth range from 3-30m, max. length 82cm. In 2020 the species has been assessed for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as vulnerable. \nThe double-ocellus marking on middle of side, just behind the head, is unique. \nThe species is often seen resting on the bottom, but occasionally it can also be seen swimming slowly or walking across the bottom using its pectoral and pelvic fins. The Triton's epaulette shark is generally sedentary during the day, seeking shelter under ledges or table corals. \nThis specimen was encountered by night at 3m depth. \nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, Indonesia, \n3°56'18.21 S 134°7'10.878 E at 3m depth

An underwater image of a Porcupine fish (Diodon hystox) which is a type of puffer fish. The name comes from their ability to puff their venomous spines up as a defence mechanism, if threatened. They are also known as Balloonfish. These fish are known to be very friendly with and curious of scuba divers. Image taken whilst scuba diving in the Andaman Sea, Thailand.

Barramundi Cod or Humpback Grouper Cromileptes altivelis occurs in the tropical Western Pacific in a depth range from 2-40m, usually in 5-25m, max. length 70cm. The species feeds on small fishes and crustaceans and inhabits lagoon and seaward reefs and is typically found in dead or silty areas, but also around coral reefs and in tide pools. The growth of Cromileptes altivelis is very slow. It is a reclusive and solitary species. \nThis specimen hides under a bolder overgrown with Orange Hydroids. \nThe size of this close-up photo is large enough to reveal in detail the nose of the fish: you can see clearly the lamella of the olfactory rosette in the nasal capsule. \nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia, 3°54'2.346 S 134°6'32.0987 E at 10m depth
