Sadhus often wear ochre-colored clothing, symbolizing renunciation.

It is celebrated in a cycle of approximately 12 years at four river-bank pilgrimage sites: the Allahabad (Ganges-Yamuna Sarasvati rivers confluence), Haridwar (Ganges), Nashik (Godavari), and Ujjain (Shipra). The festival is marked by a ritual dip in the waters, but it is also a celebration of community commerce with numerous fairs, education, religious discourses by saints, mass feedings of monks or the poor, and entertainment spectacles. Pilgrims believe that bathing in these rivers is a means to cleanse them of their sins and favour a better next incarnation.

One sadhu is taking bless from another Sadhu, who is senior and much more knowledgeable. Sadhus are dedicated their life in the name of Lord Shiva. They have a good knowledge in tantra sadhana (Black Magic). This photo has taken during Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya Temple. \n In the bank of mighty river Brahmaputra at Nilachal Hill (Guwahati, Assam, India) lies Kamakhya Temple. This is one of the oldest Shakti peeth (Temple) among the 51 shakti peethas and also the center of Tantric practice (Black Magic).  The annual festival that celebrates, the yearly menstruation cycle of the goddess Maa Kamakhya, known as Ambubachi  Mela. This yearly festival is celebrated during the monsoon season dated 7th of Ahaar (Assamese Month) or June 22. During this festival people use to come from all over India.
