Tubifer Cardinalfish Siphamia tubifer (ex. Siphamia versicolor) occurs in the tropical Indo-West Pacific from the Red Sea south to Madagascar and east through the Maldives, Sri Lanka and India to the Andaman Sea Islands and to Western Australia, north to the Ryukyus andthroughout the Indo-Malayan region to Vanuatu in a depth range from 1 to 100m, usually to 18m depth, max. length 7cm. \nThe species forms small groups with long-spined urchins, but is also found among the spines of Acanthaster planci. Siphamia tubifer feeds on zooplankton and small invertebrates. The specimen encountered in this Blue Spotted Sea Urchin Astropyga radiata is dark brown. Depending on the phase the species can be striped instead.\nBlue Spotted Sea Urchin Astropyga radiata occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific Ocean from the African coast to Australia and to Hawaii in a depth range from 0 to 60m, usually 10 to 30m, max. test diameter 20cm. \nThe species is often found in lagoons and bays where the substrate is sand, shingle or coral rubble. Sometimes many urchins collect together in one locality in dense aggregations. \nLembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia \n1°28'47.814 N 125°15'1.26 E at 23m depth

Pink Veined Didemnum Didemnum membranaceum occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific at least from Indonesia to Micronesia in a depth range from 5 to 30m. \nColonial ascidians, or sea squirts, are sessile marine invertebrates forming colonies of interconnected zooids that share a common tunic. They filter feed using specialized siphons and reproduce both sexually and asexually, often via budding. They form striking colonies with awesome zooid arrangements, like this Colonial Ascidian Didemnum membranaceum. \nThe small holes are inhaling pores. The large holes surrounded by white areas are the exhaling orifices. \nWhile ecologically important as filter feeders and habitat providers, some colonial ascidians can become invasive, impacting ecosystems and fouling marine structures. \nLembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia \n1°28'56.3943 N 125°15'15.59 E at 5m depth

The red sea urchin (Mesocentrotus franciscanus) is a sea urchin found in the northeastern Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Baja California. It lives in shallow waters from the low-tide line to greater than 920 ft deep, and is typically found on rocky shores sheltered from extreme wave action in areas where kelp is available. Strongylocentrotus franciscanus.
