Boulder´s Beach: Protected colony of the last free living Penguins of South Africa

The king penguin is the second largest species of penguin, smaller, but somewhat similar in appearance to the emperor penguin.

At Penguin Island in Antarctica, you can see natural landscapes such as stones, ice floes, icebergs, snow, sea and a large number of penguins. This is a great place for outdoor travel in summer.

The famous Boulders Penguin Colony in Simons Town is home to an adorable and endangered land-based colony of African Penguins. This colony is one of only a few in the world, and the site has become famous and a popular international tourist destination.

The beauty of remote South Georgia is difficult to describe. From majestic landscapes to the abundant wildlife with hundreds of thousands nesting penguins , the island is a paradise for a naturalist and a real joy for a plain visitor. Faraway and difficult to access, in the middle of very rough seas, it's worth every effort to get there.

Two Dolphin Gulls, Leucophaeus scoresbii, fka Larus scoresbii, flying above a colony of King Cormorants, Leucocarbo (atriceps) albiventeron, on Bleaker Island, Falklands. These Cormorants are part of the Blue-Eyed Shag group of species which is currently under taxonomic review. There is also a Falklands (Brown) Skua in flight, with a number of King Cormorants which are coming and going from fishing trips.

Salisbury Plain is a broad coastal plain found with the Bay of Isles on the north coast of South Georgia. It lies between the mouths of Grace and Lucas glaciers. Best known as the breeding site for as many as 60,000 King penguins, its beaches are also covered with many Southern elephant seals and Antarctic fur seals.
