Op de Duitse Oorlogsbegraafplaats Bergheim in de Frankrijk zijn 5.309 Duitse soldaten herbegraven die eerder op 225 locaties in het departement Haut-Rhin (Elzas)  waren begraven. De meesten van hen zijn  in de Tweede Wereldoorlog omgekomen bij de gevechten in het zuiden van de Elzas.

It is a World War II cemetery and memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy, France, that honors American troops who died in Europe during World War II. It is located on the site of the former temporary battlefield cemetery of Saint Laurent, covers 172.5 acres and contains 9,388 burials.\nThe cemetery, which was dedicated in 1956, is the most visited cemetery run by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) with over one million visitors a year.

The German war cemetery Bergheim, situated on Grasberg hill, contains 5,308 graves from the Second World War. They were brought together from 225 places in the Haut-Rhin region. This is one of several cemeteries in France where German soldiers killed in France are buried. Located in one of the deadliest areas of the Alsace front, Sigolsheim National Cemetery is home to soldiers who died for France during the Battle of the Colmar Pocket (5 December 1944 – 9 February 1945). The National Necropolis is the final resting place for 1601 French soldiers who died during the fighting for the Colmar Pocket. This monument of Resistance of Ain and Haut Jura, also named the Valley of Hell (memorial du Val d'Enfer in french), is a memorial attended a memorial and cemetery. This War Memorial, dedicated to the memory of 700 dead maquis of Ain and Haut Jura, will remain a testimony of gratitude to those who gave their lives for our freedom. This cemetery brings 89 graves of resistance fighters or victims of the Shoah; it was inaugurated June 24, 1956 by General de Gaulle. Among them, in addition to local maquis leaders, there are those of foreigners who came to fight in the Ain. Spaniards, Poles, Italians, North Africans lie to their fellow soldiers.
