Inle lake is a freshwater lake located in the Shan Hills and is the second largest lake in Myanmar. It houses 20 species of snails and 9 species of fish, found nowhere else in the world.Around 70000 people live on Inle lake in numerous floating villages built along the shallow parts of the lake. The houses are built on stilts and are made of wood and woven bamboo.
