Yellow-banded blister beetle (Mylabris phalerata) is a species of blister beetle, belonging to Meloidae family. Also known as Chinese blister beetle or banded blister beetle, it is used in traditional Chinese medicine. They are called blister beetle for their defensive secretion of a blistering agent, cantharidin. Many species are conspicuous, but some are aposematically colored, announcing their toxicity to would-be predators

Scutelleridae is a family of true bugs. They are commonly known as jewel bugs or metallic shield bugs due to their often brilliant coloration.
A stunning macro photograph capturing the intricate details of insects on a Chinese rose (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis).
Green stink bug adults measure around 15 millimeters in length and display a color that can alternate between light and dark green. The ventral surface of this species is light green and reddish antennae emerge from it.[3]\n\nThey are often known as stink bugs due to the unpleasant odor they give off.[6] This stench, reminiscent of aldehydes, is the result of a glandular secretion secreted by the pores on the thorax of this species, when it feels threatened.[6]\n\nThe longevity of adult specimens depends largely on climatic conditions, such as temperature and humidity, but also on the levels of stress to which the specimen is subjected. In any case, on average they live approximately 117 days, without significant distinction based on sex.[3]
