This shallow part of the Banda Neira reef lies inbetween the two lava flows, so it was not destroyed when reef was significantly destroyed 1988 during a volcanic eruption and the flow of lava over it. \nThere are a lot of Isopora corals in the foreground, a Porites coral at the right side and a lot of Acropora coral behind. There is a large school of Ternate Chromis Chromis ternatensis. The species occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific from the Red Sea and East Africa to Samoa and Tonga, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia in a depth range from 2-36m, max. length 10.5cm. \nThere are many other fish species to see, Triggerfishes, Parrotfishes, Surgeonfishes, Damselfishes, Butterflyfishes. \nBanda Neira between the two lava flows, Indonesia, 4°30'21.234 S 129°52'33.822 E at 4m depth

Hin Daeng aka Red Rock is one of Thailand’s most famous dive sites.  Located in the Andaman sea and famed for it’s bright Red, Purple and Pink coloured soft corals.  A true otherworldly underwater wilderness.
The bicolor chromis (Pycnochromis margaritifer), also known as the half-and-half chromis, is a species of marine fish in the family Pomacentridae. It is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the central Indo-Pacific region until the oceanic islands of the central Pacific Ocean.\n\nThe bicolor chromis is a small fish, reaching a maximum length of about 6 cm (2.4 in). It is dark brown or black on the upper body, with a white lower body and tail. The dorsal and anal fins are also white, with black tips. The juveniles are similar in coloration to the adults, but they have a more pronounced black band across the middle of the body.\n\nThe bicolor chromis is a schooling fish, and it is often found in groups of 10 or more individuals. They are generally peaceful fish, but they can become territorial towards other fish of the same species. They are omnivores, and their diet consists of algae, plankton, and small crustaceans.
