A Honey Bee (Apis melifera) gathers pollen from the abundant but tiny flowers of the Coliguay shrub (Colliguaja integerrima) in central Chile. Although most parts of the plant are toxic, the pollen is clearly a great attraction and one of the first flowers to present itself in the early Chilean springtime. The full pollen ”baskets” can be seen on the hind legs of the bee.
