Once a year takes place the catalan celebration of Correfocs, where people do fireworks dressed as demons on the street.

$A man in a chemical protection suit and a gas mask plays with fire.\nAs a state-level intangible cultural heritage in China, Huohu (fire pot) is a traditional folk performance art. Performers put well-burned charcoal into iron meshes on both sides and shake the meshes up and down so that the charcoal will flare up and blazing sparks will burst out of the meshes and light up the sky just like fireworks. The performance is not only to show the traditional stunt thousands of years’ old, but also to create a lively festival mood, hailing for good fortune and fencing off evil spirits. Nowadays, the Huohu performance has evolved into a popular folk entertainment, drawing people close with both the visible flames and the invisible passion and carrying on people’s wish for a happy life.$

Valencia, Spain; 27th october 2023: Participants in the cultural tradition of 'correfoc' perform a parade. The correfoc is a festive tradition in Spain, especially in Valencia and Catalonia, where participants dress in demon costumes and carry flaming torches. This energetic and colorful event celebrates local culture and identity, fusing elements of fire and music into a unique and vibrant experience.

Agnone, Molise (Italy): men in traditional black cloaks and hats carry flaming torches during the ancient Christmas event called 'Ndocciata, celebrated in Agnone, city in the Molise region of Southern Italy. In this religious celebration, a great number of “‘ndocce” (torches) are carried in a typical fan shape along the main town road. The carriers start with only one torch, then bring each up to 24 fires, each about four metres high. The celebration ends with a bonfire in the town square.
