My guess is this beautiful female coastal brown bear was confused as to what I was. At least that is my take away from this photo.

One cub is directly behind her following and the other is sitting. The bears are 80 feet from the camera.

Two adult male Kodiak grizzly bears, or Alaskan brown bears - Ursus arctos middendorffi - stand head to head in tense anticipation of a fight. Both bears are just below center frame in a horizontal composition, one a bit higher than the other atop a grassy rise, the other on the side of the grassy rise. Hackles are not up, but it is evident that there is developing friction. Two main colors in the image - the honey brown color of the bears against a mostly green grass background. Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, Alaska.

A spring Brown Bear cub is seen in this photo. The cub is on a lake beach in Katmai National Park in Alaska. The cub is alone and is looking at the camera with apprehension. The bear appears to be nervous about the interaction. This cub was born in the spring and is 6 months old. The face of the cub makes a good meme photo
