Arch Canyon is a picturesque location located along the Ajo Mountain Drive in the Sonoran Desert of southern Arizona, near the border with Mexico. After recently reopening, having been closed for years, I decided to make the trip from Apache Junction to Roosevelt Lake. It was just as stunning as ever.

The Salt River runs from eastern Arizona and joins the Gila River west of Phoenix. It is used to maintain many reservoirs in the mountains east of Phoenix, the largest being The Theodore Roosevelt Reservoir. These reservoirs provide water to the Phoenix area as well as creating excellent recreational opportunities.
