Pheasants are a group of birds in the Phasianidae family, including partridges, quails, and turkeys. There are at least 39 different species of pheasants, including the Common Pheasant, Golden Pheasant, and Argus. These birds are known for their brightly coloured, iridescent plumage, which varies from grey, brown, tan, white, and black, to red, yellow, green, blue, and more. The males are usually more brightly coloured than the females. Most of these birds are relatively large and have long tails, measuring between one and three feet long, including their tails, and weighing between one and five pounds. Pheasants live in various habitats, with different species having different habitat preferences. They are omnivorous, feeding on seeds, grain, shoots, insects, and more. Some interesting species of pheasants include the Common Pheasant, Green Pheasant, Lady Amherst's Pheasant, and Crested Fireback.
