The Bumba-meu-boi is a traditional folk fest in the Northern, and Northeastern part of Brazil. The festival is a tradition that has been maintained since the 18th century, which draws locals and visitors to every corner of São Luís, Maranhão, in the months of June and July. The bumba-meu-boi is a popular party, where groups dance to a folk tale. They dress up in different outfits, each one representing the characters of the indians, cowboys, and the bull, which is the main character of the party. It's very colorful, with feathers, ribbons, and hats, and the music rhythm makes it even more interesting. A beautiful woman enjoys the festivities.
