London, England - September 24, 2012: An old 1922 German banknote for 10,000 marks, sometimes known as the 'Vampire' note because when viewed sideways, it appears as if a vampire is biting the neck of the man (it is not easy to see at first): the engraving is Albrecht Durers Portrait of a Young Man but was slightly altered by the banknote engraver to show this so-called vampire apparently sucking the lifeblood out of the German economy with the reparations imposed after World War One. The 10,000 mark note was first issued in 1922 in a time of spiralling inflation.

Dresden, Germany - September, 24th - 2023: The Zwinger Nymphenbad. The Zwinger is a building complex with gardens in Dresden. Built under the direction of the architect Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann and the sculptor Balthasar Permoser, the Gesamtkunstwerk of architecture, sculpture and painting is one of the most important buildings of the Baroque and is next to the Frauenkirche the most famous monument in Dresden.
The locals are resting on the bench next to the river Ljubljanica in the city center. The local marketplace and the city landmark are seen in the background. the photo was taken in the summer during the weekend stroll through the center to capture the normal relaxed morning of the locals.

Views of historic Dresden, Germany.Dresden is the capital city of the German state of Saxony.  Dresden is the 12th most populous city of Germany and the fourth largest by area.  Dresden is the second largest city on the River Elbe just after Hamburg.Dresden has a history as the capital and royal residence for the Kings of Saxony.  The city was known as the Jewel Box due to its' Baroque and Rococo city centre.  During WWII the British and Americans bombed the city killing approximately 25,000 people and destroying the city.  The ruins of the city remained for 50 years until being rebuilt between 1994 and 2005.  Dresen is one of the most popular cities visited in Germany.
