Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka- January 28, 2017: Polonnaruwa, a marvel of a place, is in Northern Sri Lanka. The city once served as the capital of the Kingdom of Polonnaruwa under the Chola Empire in the 10th century. This makes it the second most historic kingdom in Sri Lanka after Anuradhapura. Anmer, Norfolk, England - September 22, 2015: Part of the village street with the village sign in Anmer, Norfolk, eastern England. Anmer is a small village near Queen Elizabeth II’s country home, Sandringham House. In Anmer village is the country home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Anmer Hall. The sign was unveiled in 2007 by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and has a Roman soldier on one side, with this side showing a Boy Scout: it is thought that the Iceni fought the Roman army nearby and the Queen had allowed a Scout jamboree to be held there in 1957.

Tombstones in Aphrodisias. Aphrodisias was a small ancient Greek city in the historic Caria cultural region of western Anatolia, Turkey. Aphrodisias was named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, who had here her unique cult image, the Aphrodite of Aphrodisias.
Xieng Khouang. The Plain of Jars is a place in central Laos where you will find hundreds of stone jars of various sizes, scattered across endless plains. Nobody knows exactly why they are there and since when. I visited this mysterious place  and this is one of the pictures I took.
