Boothbay Harbor, Maine lobster fishermen hard at work. Lobster fishing in Maine represents a half billion dollar industry.  Lobstering is considered one of the oldest, continuously operating industries on the North American continent.  Although you can find lobsterman fishing year round, the peak season for lobstering is between late June and late December.  The work is very physical as shown in the pictures with hauling lobster traps to the surface daily to check on the catch.
