The Red-crowned Crane,  Grus japonensis, also called the Japanese Crane or Manchurian Crane, is a large crane and is the second rarest crane in the world. One of the most endangered species of bird. Hokkaido, Japan, Akan Crane Center. Flying in the winter.
The Maiden Crane is the smallest species of the crane family. The species is a breeding bird of the boreal zone as well as the steppe and desert zones from southeastern Europe through central Asia to northwestern Mongolia and northeastern China. In Central Europe, the Maiden Crane is a very rare stray visitor.
