The edge of the flight deck of HMAS Canberra, another Amphibious Assault Ship, is visible behind her.  HMAS Supply is docked on the far side. Nouméa, South Province, New Caledonia: French Navy oceanic patrol ship D'Entrecasteaux (A621), moored by the Maritime Museum - first vessel of its class (named after the French navigator Antoine Bruny d'Entrecasteaux), an overseas support and assistance vessel (BSAOM), aka multi-mission vessel (B2M), designed to perform sovereignty, law enforcement and logistics missions - developed and produced by Kership, built at the Piriou shipyard in Concarneau. The d'Entrecasteaux class vessels can be armed with two 12.7x99 mm (.50 cal.) machine guns.
