Vintage engraving of a landlords family under police protection in Ireland during the Plan of Campaign of 1886, part of the Land War. The Land War in Irish history was a period of agrarian agitation in rural Ireland in the 1870s, 1880s and 1890s. The agitation was led by the Irish National Land League and was dedicated to bettering the position of tenant farmers and ultimately to a redistribution of land to tenants from landlords. While there were many violent incidents and some deaths in this campaign, it was not actually a war, but rather a prolonged period of civil unrest. London Illustrated News, 1886

Blenheim Palace is a monumental stately home situated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England. It is the seat of the Dukes of Marlborough. The palace, one of England's largest houses, was built between 1705 and circa 1724. UNESCO recognised the palace as a World Heritage Site in 1987.

The Hotel Cecil a grand hotel built 1890–96 between the Thames Embankment and the Strand in London. The hotel was demolished in 1930. Shell Mex House now stands here
