In 1909, this report is recorded: 'A New German Biplane – In spite of being inconvenienced by a heavy fall of snow, two German inventors, Herr Amerigo and Herr Thiele, succeeded in getting the biplane they have built at Leipzig to make several long jumps...' Arthur Thiele died in 1915, just after the beginning of the First World War.
