A myrrh bush (Commiphora myrrha) in the dry landscape in the Northern Cape, South Africa, on the border with Namibia. Myrrh resin is used as incense, perfume and medicine, and is considered\na highly valuable commodity, one of the three presented to Mary and Joseph at the birth of Christ.
It is an adventurous challenge to pass the arid landscape of Northern Namibia by 4x4. Kunene Region is a beautiful scenic area in Namibia and offers a variety of highlights. The Epupa Falls and the Kunene River are well known travel destinations. The Himba people are living in this part of Africa. The trees are green, because it is wet season. The Makalani Palm or Real Fan Palm (Hyphaene petersiana) and the Baobab are part of the scenery.

The Fremont’s Cottonwood (Populus fremontii) is a poplar tree native to the American Southwest and south through central Mexico.  The tree was named after John C. Fremont, the 19th century American explorer.  The riparian tree grows near streams, rivers, springs and wetlands below 6,600 ft elevation. Kerria japonica, commonly called Japanese kerria or Japanese rose, is a graceful, spring-flowering, deciduous shrub that is native to certain mountainous areas of Japan and China.
