The Abyssinian ground hornbill  (Bucorvus abyssinicus) is an African bird, found north of the equator, and is one of two species of ground hornbill. It is the second largest species of African hornbill.  Abyssinian hornbills are listed as Vulnerable  (IUCN 3.1).  In this photo the large bird is holding nesting material in its mouth. Two Dolphin Gulls, Leucophaeus scoresbii, fka Larus scoresbii, flying above a colony of King Cormorants, Leucocarbo (atriceps) albiventeron, on Bleaker Island, Falklands. These Cormorants are part of the Blue-Eyed Shag group of species which is currently under taxonomic review. There is also a Falklands (Brown) Skua in flight, with a number of King Cormorants which are coming and going from fishing trips.

Fur seals, once almost extinct, are now so abundant in Fortuna Bay that it is sometimes difficult to find a landing spot on the shore.
