The Treasury, Petra, Jordan: The Treasury, also known as Al-Khazneh, is one of the most elaborate temples in Petra, a city of the Nabatean Kingdom inhabited by the Arabs in ancient times. The Treasury is carved out of sandstone.\n\nThe structure is believed to have been the mausoleum of the Nabatean King Aretas IV in the 1st century AD. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jordan.

Petra, Jordan - November 19, 2018 : Monastery Ad-Deir in Petra.  On this magnificent archaeological site, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there is an ancient Nabataean city where the buildings are carved out of the red and pink sandstone mountains, fantastic engineering achievements and marvelously well preserved. A walk of more than an hour and the ascent of 800 steps carved into the rock brings us to the discovery of this magnificent building called the Monastery (Al Deir), both immense and sumptuous, the highest point of this Nabataean city.  We see on the photo many tourists who discover this building.\n\nThe site was chosen as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Needless to say, this is the most popular tourist site in the country.
