The Verrucan Stone is a sediment conglomerate from the permian period. It consists of silicoplastics and vulcanic source. The Verrucano stones from switzerland (canton glarus and graubuenden) appear often in green ord red colurs. The close-up image was captured in the canton of glarus.

Stromatolites are layered accretionary limestone structures. They formed by the trapping, binding and cementation of sediments by cyanobacteria, usually forming a dome. These stromatolites form part of the Gamohaan formation in the Ghaap group, which were deposited at the end of the Archean Eon
