The Pine Siskin (Spinus pinus) is a North American bird in the finch family.  In Northern Arizona they are a common feeder bird throughout the winter.  This bird was photographed while hanging onto a branch at Walnut Canyon Lakes in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.

The House Finch (Haemorhous mexicanus) is a year-round resident of North America and the Hawaiian Islands.  Male coloration varies in intensity with availability of the berries and fruits in its diet.  As a result, the colors range from pale straw-yellow through bright orange to deep red.
