Originally it was used as an art gallery and as a public library. Eventually the City used the facility as a banquet hall and as a cultural asset. It remains in use today. It was designed by architect Albert Kahn. Willistead Manor is a popular tourist attraction in Windsor and is the showcase feature in Willistead Park.
