Blastomycosis is a fungal infection caused by inhaling Blastomyces dermatitidis spores. If it involves only the lungs, it is called pulmonary blastomycosis. Only about half of people with the disease have symptoms, which can include fever, cough, night sweats, muscle pains, weight loss, chest pain, and feeling tired.

From left to right, axial, coronal and sagittal contrast-enhanced CT of the abdomen and pelvis of a young child demonstrating a large, aggressive abdominal tumor arising from the left kidney. This tumor and the attached kidney were removed and found to be a Wilms tumor. Named after Max Wilms, a German doctor who described the disease in 1899, Wilms tumor or nephroblastoma is the most common abdominal cancer and most common kidney cancer in children. It is often only diagnosed once it is large enough to feel or be seen pushing out of the abdomen. Fortunately, the vast majority of Wilms tumors are favorable histology and have a good chance of being cured with treatment. Treatment depends on the stage (size, location, spread) of tumor and begins with surgery to remove the tumor followed by chemotherapy, and often also radiation therapy.

Burkitt lymphoma is a form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in which cancer starts in immune cells called B-cells. Recognized as a fast growing human tumor, Burkitt lymphoma is associated with impaired immunity and is rapidly fatal if left untreated.

Hurricane Fiona becomes a dangerous category 4 storm over the Atlantic south of Bermuda. This colorful infrared satellite image belies the power and strength of this tropical storm. The brighter tops show higher clouds with the black in the northwest quadrant being the coldest / highest. A well developed eye has formed with banded upper outflow depicted in this satellite imagery.

Potential tropical cyclone One tries to organize near the Yucatan peninsula, potentially the first named storm of 2022. Colorful satellite depiction of a developing tropical cyclone. The main convection with bright simulated colors is well removed from the incipient low level circulation due to strong shear across the system. Despite this shear, a tropical depression or storm may develop over the southeast Gulf of Mexico on June 3-4 2022. The high resolution satellite imagery provides essential information to monitor the storm.
