The photo was taken on an old industrial site which has also been used as a car park, a tip and an illegal caravan site. The growing surface is made up of general building rubbish. There are a number different plants, including a couple of in-flower Herb Robert growing around a healthy looking Ragwort. Nature is slowly fighting its way back.
Creamy pink flowers in flat-topped clusters with deeply lobed dark purple foliage that is finely cut like lace, similar to Japanese maple. Early summer.

Top view of a yarrow flower, showing the pretty individual florets. With its white or pink flowers arranged in an umbrella shape, it looks for all the world like one of the umbellifers. Instead, it belongs to the composite (daisy) family. Perhaps due to its popularity in herbal remedies, yarrow has collected a pantheon of alternative names, including milfoil, millefoil, nosebleed, staunchgrass, thousand-leaf, soldier's woundwort, sanguinary, bloodwort, noble yarrow, old man's pepper, knight's milfoil, angel flower... The many references to wounds and blood give testament to its usefulness in the field of battle.
Goldmoss Stonecrop (Sedum acre) known as Goldmoss Sedum, or Golden Carpet Stonecrop. Native to Europe, naturalised in North America, Japan, and New Zealand.
