Kerma, Sudan - April 28, 2010: The oasis of Kerma village, next to the dilapidated ruins of Kerma (also known as Dukki Gel), a 5500 years old civilization that flourished in the Nubian desert, in northern Sudan. Kerma is one of the largest archaeological sites in ancient Nubia, most of it abandoned and at the mercy of the elements and birds nesting on its walls. The Nubian Desert is in the eastern region of the Sahara Desert, between the Nile and the Red Sea. The native inhabitants of the area are the Nubians, descendants of the ancient Nubian civilizations.
Namutoni Fort (Old Fortress of the German Schutztruppe) at Etosha National Park in Kunene Region, Namibia. It was built in 1896 as a German police post and used as a prison for English prisoners during World War I.  Destroyed in 1904 during the Battle of Namutoni, it was rebuilt a year later and declared a monument in 1947, and restored in 1957. Today it is a completely free to enter monument with no payment required and is located at Namutoni camp.

People at Ankara Castle which is a fortification from ancient or medieval era in Ankara, Turkey. The exact date of its construction is unknown. Having been controlled by Romans and Byzantines earlier; it was captured by Seljuq Turks in 1073, by Crusaders in 1101, who gave it back again to the Byzantine and again by Seljuqs in 1227. The castle saw extensive repair by the order of İbrahim Paşa in 1832 during the Ottoman era.The ramparts of the old Ankara citadel nowadays serves as historic museum, tourists like to walk her, Ankara.
