The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle (now Boeing) is a all-weather air superiority fighter aircraft, designed by American aircraft manufacturer McDonnell Douglas in the 1970s. Produced in more than a thousand examples, it is used mainly by the United States Air Force (USAF), but it has also been exported, including to Israel and Japan, the latter having also built it under license. A ground attack version was also developed, the F-15E Strike Eagle.
