A large, freshly caught Steelhead or Rainbow Trout.  Steelhead are a strain of ocean or lake run rainbow trout that return to rivers to spawn.  They are typically larger than resident stream rainbow trout and are genetically distinct.

August 27, 2021, Valdez, Alaska. Salmon, in the thousands, have made their way to their spawning grounds. These fish fought to the very last breath of their life to do what they were intended to do.  It is quite a sight to see thousand of fish fighting, even to their demise, I to get to the place of their birth.

Brown bears can be distinguished from American black and polar bears by their distinct shoulder hump, dish-shaped face, and long claws. They can vary in color from black to blonde. Brown bears, also known as grizzly bears, can be found in many of our national parks.  Annual salmon migrations drive the bears to the river to fish as the salmon swim up river to their spawning grounds.
