Dragon's Mouth Spring is renowned for its dramatic, steaming cave from which roaring sounds emanate, resembling the breath of a dragon. The spring's opening is partially submerged, and waves of hot water surge out rhythmically, adding to the illusion of a dragon's mouth. The strong sulfuric smell, due to the hydrogen sulfide gas emissions, enhances its eerie and mythical aura. It was discovered during the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition of 1870.
