Turning the holy mountain is the most devout way for Tibetan Buddhism believers to express their faith.Pilgrims usually choose this animal year (every 12 years) of the Holy Mountainby walking around it, taking at\n least 3-5 days, or up to a month.\nThere are a few holy mountains in the whole Tibetan area. The holy mountain here is the Cavagbo Peak (also the main peak of the Meili Mountain), one of the four great holy\n mountains in the whole Tibetan area. Camelback Mountain is a prominent feature of the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona. It is part of the McDowell Mountain Range and is composed primarily of Precambrian granite. The mountain has been weathered by rain, wind and other forces of nature over millions of years. This erosion has given the mountain a distinctive hump-back “camel†shape thus leading to its name. The area around Camelback Mountain is home to a variety of cacti, including saguaros, as well as a range of other desert plants and animals, such as jackrabbits, rattlesnakes, and Gila monsters. The mountain's summit provides a critical habitat for a number of bird species, including hawks, vultures, and eagles. This shot was taken from an airplane while approaching for a landing at the Salt Lake City, Utah airport. As show in the picture, an inversion event was happening which keeps colded, polluted air trapped in the valleys below the mountains. Above the abrupt transition point for the inversion the air is very clear. In this shot, Mount Timpanogos is shown in the middle with its peak visible above the inversion layer. Below, the city of Draper looks to be covered in a gray layer of soot.
