A Gould's jewelfront hummingbird is seen perching on a branch.  This is a small and very colorful hummingbird.  The focus on the picture is very sharp.  You can see the eye lashes at the bottom of the eye socket on this beautiful hummingbird. Purple flowers can be seen in the blurry background.

A Collared Inca hummingbird is seen perching on a branch.  The birds wings are pulled back as the bird is  stretching.  The tail wings are flared open as well.  The hummingbird has a long black beak and a green fluorescent body.  The Collared Inca hummingbird is found in the high Andes mountains of Peru.

Two Chestnut-breasted coronet hummingbirds are seen in this photo.   A Chestnut-breasted coronet is upset at the other. There is rain falling in the photo. Both birds are covered in rain droplets.  Both small colorful hummingbirds are staring at each other in a show of defiance for a prime perching spot.  One hummingbird appears to be telling the other one to leave.
Very attractive small tanager of humid tropical lowlands. Found in humid evergreen forest edges, plantations, and gardens; at times with mixed-species feeding flocks of honeycreepers and euphonias. Often in pairs, feeding at all levels in fruiting trees and bushes. Note the short, curved bill. Males are a unique green-blue color with black hood and a banana yellow beak. Female resembles female Red-legged Honeycreeper but is larger, brighter, uniform green, with yellow lower bill and grayish legs.

Adult males are mainly black with a chestnut head and rump and a tail which is bright yellow apart from two dark central feathers. The iris is blue and the long bill is whitish. Females are similar, but smaller and duller than males. The chestnut-headed oropendola inhabits forest canopy, edges and old plantations. It is a quite common bird in parts of its range, seen in small flocks foraging in trees for large insects, fruit and berries.

Two Sparkling violetear hummingbirds can be seen on a branch perching.  The birds are facing each other and are almost beak to beak.  The hummingbirds are very pretty and have many iridescent colors.

The Brewer's Blackbird (Euphagus cyanocephalus) is a medium-sized North American blackbird and named after the ornithologist Thomas Mayo Brewer.  Adult males have black plumage with an iridescent head and glossy highlights on the rest of the body. The feet and legs are black and the eye is bright yellow. The female is a brownish-grey color. The female's eye is dark brown.  Their breeding habitat is open and semi-open areas near water, across central and western North America. The Brewer’s Blackbird is often a permanent resident in the west.  They are also very adaptable to humans and frequently come to bird feeders.  This female blackbird was photographed while perched in a tree near Walnut Canyon Lakes in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
