The flower is Abelia × grandiflora, which is a cross between A. chinensis and A. uniflora. It is a rounded, spreading, multi-stemmed shrub in the honeysuckle family. The plant features clusters of white to pink, bell-shaped flowers which appear in the upper leaf axils and stem ends over a long period from late spring to autumn. Flowers are fragrant.

The Fremont’s Cottonwood (Populus fremontii) is a poplar tree native to the American Southwest and south through central Mexico.  The tree was named after John C. Fremont, the 19th century American explorer.  The riparian tree grows near streams, rivers, springs and wetlands below 6,600 ft elevation. A wall of Chilean firetree (Embothrium coccineum) flowers and leaves.The Chilean Firetree is also known as Chilean firebush (Notro, or Ciruelillo in Spanish) and is a member of the family Proteaceae.It is found in Chile and Argentina, where is grows in temperate forests. Withinin the protaceae, it is believed to share an ancestor with Australia's waratah, which likewise has red terminal flowers.
Southern state freshwater wetland forest on a rainy evening in summer (July). The image was captured in Big Creek, Forsyth, (near Cumming) in Georgia (USA) with a full frame mirrorless digital camera and a sharp telephoto lens. The image is part of a large series of Georgia wetland. Most of the images were shot at 200mm and maximum aperture f/2.8 creating a very shallow depth of field resulting in defocused spaces suitable  for copy/text.
