I was in a group tour and our Day 2 started with Naga's visit. Many sites to see here. Roman kiosk is very interesting but i recommend you to research a bit about Kushitic Kingdom of Meroë before visiting the site, which makes you more excited when you finally get there.
The Nubian pyramids were built by the rulers of the ancient Kushite kingdoms. The area of the Nile valley known as Nubia, which lies within the north of present-day Sudan, was the site of three Kushite kingdoms during antiquity. The capital of the first was at Kerma (2500–1500 BCE). The second was centered on Napata (1000–300 BCE). The third kingdom was centered on Meroë (300 BCE-AD 300). The pyramids are built of granite and sandstone.\n\nHeavily influenced by the Egyptians, Nubian kings built their own pyramids 1000 years after Egyptian burial methods had changed.[1] In Nubia, pyramids were built for the first time at El Kurru in 751 BC.[2] The Nubian-style pyramids emulated a form of Egyptian private elite family pyramid that was common during the New Kingdom.[3] There are twice as many Nubian pyramids still standing today as there are Egyptian.[1] Forty of the pyramids were partially demolished by an Italian treasure hunter, Giuseppe Ferlini, in the 1830s.[4] The Nubian pyramids are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[5]

Located in the desert of Saudi Arabia, they were carved directly into the sandstone mountains, creating breathtaking facades that look like ancient stone palaces. The desert surroundings of Hegra, with its sweeping sands and sparse vegetation, give the tombs an even more awe-inspiring appearance.Tomb Facades: The tombs stand out because they are intricately carved into the rock. The facades are monumental, often up to 20 meters in height, showcasing the advanced architectural skills of the Nabateans who constructed them around the 1st century CE.Inside the Tombs:Chambers and Burial Rooms: Inside, the tombs are relatively simple but solemn. These chambers are carved out of the rock, with minimal decoration compared to the facades.

The dilapidated ruins of Kerma (also known as Dukki Gel), a 5500 years old civilization that flourished in the Nubian desert, in northern Sudan. Kerma is one of the largest archaeological sites in ancient Nubia, most of it abandoned and at the mercy of the elements and birds nesting on its walls. The Nubian Desert is in the eastern region of the Sahara Desert, between the Nile and the Red Sea. The native inhabitants of the area are the Nubians, descendants of the ancient Nubian civilizations.
