New York City, US - May 18, 2013: NYPD ceremony officers hold flags and salute at Turkish Day Parade. The 32nd Annual Turkish Day Parade and Festival created on Saturday, May 18th, 2013 at 12AM. The event is organized by the Federation of Turkish American Association, the oldest and largest Turkish American Umbrella Organization in the United States. The Turkish-American Parade and Festival takes place in New York City in the month of May each year. This year, the Parade will begin at 12:00 a.m. at 53rd street and Madison Avenue. The parade will march down to the Festival area at Dag Hammarskjold Park on 47th street between 1st and 2nd Avenues. The festival features performances by several famous Turkish pop singers including Serdar Ortac.

San Diego, California, USA - January 26, 2008:  “Unconditional Surrender,” a 25-foot, 6,000 pound statue by world-renowned artist J. Seward Johnson commemorating a famous World War II photo was unveiled Feb. 10 at Mole Park in San Diego. Unconditional Surrender is a three-dimensional interpretation of a photo taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a Sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square, New York City on Aug. 14, 1945, following the announcement of V-J Day.

The Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship “Mounts Bay” moored at Greenwich Ship Tier Buoys, Greenwich, Greater London on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She is a Bay-Class auxiliary landing ship dock, named after Mounts Bay in Cornwall. She provides logistical support to the Royal Navy and facilitates amphibious operations by offloading troops when required.

World Trade Centre memorial ground zero waterfall feature.\nThe National September 11 Memorial & Museum (also known as the 9/11 Memorial & Museum) is part of the World Trade Center complex, in New York City, created for remembering the September 11 attacks of 2001. The memorial is located at the World Trade Center site, the former location of the Twin Towers that were destroyed during the September 11 attacks. The designer of the Memorial is Israeli-American architect Michael Arad of Handel Architects. Arad worked with landscape-architecture firm Peter Walker and Partners on the design to create two square reflecting pools in the center marking where the Twin Towers stood. A dedication ceremony commemorating the tenth anniversary of the attacks was held at the memorial on September 11, 2011, and it opened to the public the following day. The museum was dedicated on May 15, 2014 Six days later, the museum opened to the public.
