A beautiful view of the interior of the Duomo of Gualdo Tadino, a medieval small town in the Umbria region, in central Italy. Built in Romanesque style starting in 1256, the Duomo or Cattedrale di San Benedetto (Cathedral of St. Benedict of Nursia) is among the best preserved major churches in the region. The interior of the church consists of three naves, a cross vault and a semicircular apse. In the background in the center the precious high altar, rebuilt with elements of the 14th century, composed with bas-reliefs depicting episodes from the life of St. Benedict. The Umbria region, considered the green lung of Italy for its wooded mountains, is characterized by a perfect integration between nature and the presence of man, in a context of environmental sustainability and healthy life. In addition to its immense artistic and historical heritage, Umbria is famous for its food and wine production and for the high quality of the olive oil produced in these lands.
