The Descent of the Cross is the central panel of a triptych painted by Peter Paul Rubens in 1612.  The painting is one of the great altar peaces in the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp. The central Panel = 421X311 cm (166X122 inches).  The two other panels describe “the Visitation” and the “Presentation of  Jesus at the temple”.   Each panel =  411X153 cm (166X60 inches).

A view of the stunning frescoes inside de apse of the Duomo of Spoleto, a medieval town in the Umbria region, central Italy. The frescoes, depicting the Stories of the Virgin, were painted by Filippo Lippi between 1467 and 1469.
