Jeremiah was a prophet during the time of King Josiah. He warned the people about a coming judgment because of their sins. His warnings were largely ignored. God instructed him to write on a scroll a message for the people. Jeremiah and Baruch worked on that scroll, but it was later burned by Jehoiachim. Jeremiah was eventually arrested and put in prison. Upon his release, he fled to Egypt. He shared a message of hope and redemption with the exiles.

He also saw the valley of dry bones and God restoring flesh to those bones symbolizing the restoration of Israel. The prophecies of Ezekiel included judgment upon Judah, judgment against surrounding nations, and restoration of Israel.
